Dragonfly Mixed Media

This is a small 4x6, very fun to work on!! The dragonfly was made with modeling paste on the canvas and then painted for a raised look.

May 5th Mixed Media Monday - Challenge "His Eye is on the Sparrow"

"His Eye is on the Sparrow" This is an 8 x 10 mixed media piece with texture added in areas using modeling paste. This was my first time using it and it was so fun!! I hope you enjoy it and realize you are seeing it for a reason!! Art as I work

As you know my day job is being a pediatric speech language pathologist. Sometimes I just have to work my art into my speech therapy or I never seem to have time for it.
This girl was working on /f/ sounds so we made a fish with a face and fins and flowers out of playdough!!

Another sketch I started on the plane..I was sketching from a photo in a magazine..I just finished it today.

On the way back from Austin, I decided to do a simple pencil sketch of the dog I will be painting, just to get a feel for the face. I am a little self-conscious drawing in public.....people always watch and make comments..how do you feel about it?

Hi! I'm back from Spring Break!!

I am so sorry that I have been lost for a couple of weeks. I went to visit my best friend from childhood, Dawnetta in Austin. I hadn't seen her in 7 years. The kids were so big!! Anyway, I had a great time and hopefully, I will start posting my art regularly now. I am working on a portrait of a friend's dog that died recently and I plan to have the steps of the project posted here shortly.
I missed all of you!!
