The painting was started using background techniques such as masking, glazes, printing with crinkled paper, alcohol drops and paint drops. I just finished a portrait of my friends, Rod and Keli for their wedding gift. I gave it to her last night at her shower and I think she really loved it!This was my first attempt at a portrait with acrylic on watercolor and I really enjoy this medium. I thinned out the acrylic alot with water for glazing and then used it more thickly for coverage. I also used some colored pencils for accents.

So far, for the first week, I have really loved creativity boot camp. I dont know how long I can keep up since there's a new prompt daily and most everyone else just thinks of an idea, goes "click" and their work is done!! THe rose (HEavy Metal) was done in acrylic on watercolor paper with modeling paste for texture and gold paint for highlights.The bird(Multilayered) was painted in acrylic on watercolor paper from a photo I took in Nassau,Bahamas at Ardastra Gardens. The bird is an East African Crowned Crane.

Day 2 theme is "Picnic"...I dont know where this came from, but I just started drawing on a little piece of watercolor paper (5x7) and then painted. This is the painting I was working on at the grand opening show...I have to explain that right about that time I started a discipleship class with my husband at our church and it's been absolutely wonderful!! However, we will just about read the entire bible in 34 weeks so we have homework 6 nights a week!! It is so fabulous to be in the word, but I have found my art time has gone out the window.
