DREAMER - Wyanne's - Paint Free - Week 3 Painting

This is the dreamer up close

This is the angel up close...I love her wing!

This is the final version of "DREAMER"

This is the collaged torn pieces
This is the week one painting that was the background
This is one of my painted letters

This is a class about finding your own style of painting. I am really learning so much. In this assignment, we wrote letters to those who discouraged and broke our creative spirit..and forgave them and then we wrote a letter to those who encouraged and freed our creative spirit and expressed our appreciation and love to them. Then we painted over these letters, tore them to tiny pieces and collaged them over our week 1 30 minute painting assignment. We covered the original painting and made it into a new painting over the collaged pieces. VERY FUN!!! I loved this......I call it "DREAMER"

latest paintings

I'm taking Wyanne's Art Play Class right now and I'm really loving it. I'm excited because my creativity is flowing again. Sometimes life happens, and we just get stopped up for awhile. The first is an 12 x 16 acrylic on canvas. The assignment was to complete it in 2 thirty minute sittings of uninterrupted flowing paint time. We were to paint something we loved as a child, so I painted the beach and shells.
The second painting is a 9x 12 acrylic on canvas. This is a result of studying Monet and his techniques online. I am doing an art class for homeschoolers in a couple of weeks and I plan to teach impressionism and about Monet. This is a hard subject! I decided to try and paint some Monet-like paintings...I loved doing this!

Art Play Class painting

This painting was a result of watching week 2 of Wyanne's Art Play class. The painting was started using background techniques such as masking, glazes, printing with crinkled paper, alcohol drops and paint drops. A picture of a woman from a magazine was rubbed out with acetone and accidently torn. She was clipped out and collaged on with modge podge. Then, looking at the shapes in the background, I was drawn to certain areas and started painting what seemed to emerge. I had no aim for a final outcome, and this was the fun part! I am happy with the final painting. The underpainting of techniques used makes it look distressed and interesting.
